{"id":5707,"date":"2024-03-22T08:00:33","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T08:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/video-widget\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T16:08:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T16:08:22","slug":"video-widget","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/video-widget\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Use the Video Widget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Video Widget<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> lets you embed or upload videos directly into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/templates\/\">workflows<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/running-checklists\/\">workflow runs<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use it to visually guide users, add tutorials, or personalize your workflows with welcome messages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Videos help enhance clarity and engagement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can use them to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Show how to complete a task step-by-step<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add a welcome message to client or employee onboarding workflows<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrate how to use a tool or system<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replace long blocks of instructional text<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When uploading a video to a workflow, the maximum size is <strong>8 GB<\/strong>. Embedding a video from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia has no limit.<\/p>\n<p>Supported video file types for upload are: MP4, WEBM, MOV, AVI, WMV, MKV, MPG, MPEG, FLV, F4V, M4V, ASF, 3GP, 3GPP, DIVX, and XVID. If your video is in a different format, upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or Wistia, and use the generated link instead.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Users: In order to add or edit video widgets in workflows, you must be an Administrator or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/what-is-a-full-member\/\">Builder<\/a> who has been given <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/permissions\/\"><b><i>&#8216;edit&#8217;<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i> access by your Administrator. <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h2>How to use the video widget<\/h2>\n<p>To use the video widget (as with any other content widget) you need to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/editing-templates\/\">editing a workflow<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/library\/\">library<\/a>, find the workflow you want to edit and click the <strong>Edit<\/strong> icon next to its name.<\/p>\n<p>Next, click on the task or heading to which you want to add your video.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7733\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/video-widget.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can drag and drop the video widget into place, or click once to add it. Next, add the URL for the video or its embed code, as shown above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pro tip:<\/strong> You can add a video by dragging and dropping, or copying and pasting it into your workflow whilst you are working in the editor. Just make sure to click on the task area (in the editor) before pasting the video. You can add a description underneath it if you wish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/publish-and-run\/\"><strong>Publish<\/strong> <strong>and Run<\/strong><\/a> your workflow when you\u2019re finished to ensure everything is working as expected.<\/p>\n<p>While there is no storage limit for uploads to your Process Street account, there are individual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/file-upload-limits\/\">file upload limits<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>My video isn\u2019t showing?<\/h3>\n<p>If your video doesn\u2019t load properly, you need to use the embed code instead of the video URL. It is also possible that the uploaded video hasn\u2019t been shared publicly.
