{"id":5941,"date":"2023-10-19T08:00:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-19T08:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/slack-app\/"},"modified":"2024-03-07T11:31:52","modified_gmt":"2024-03-07T11:31:52","slug":"slack-app","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/slack-app\/","title":{"rendered":"Slack App"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many teams use a plethora of tools in their day-to-day operations which can be hard to manage.<\/p>\n<p>If your business uses <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/\">Slack<\/a>, then our Slack App gives you a shortcut to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/\">Process Street<\/a>, bringing your workflows and tasks directly to where your teams are working.<\/p>\n<p>You can add it to one Slack workspace, more than one workspace or organization-wide in Slack.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lyXtGlgoX88\" width=\"100%\" height=\"406\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Connect Process Street to Slack now:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/slack\/authorize\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/add_to_slack.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/add_to_slack.png 1x, https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/add_to_slack@2x.png 2x\" alt=\"Add to Slack\" width=\"139\" height=\"40\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Users: All users can access the Slack App. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Work from Slack<\/h2>\n<p>You can work on tasks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/approvals\/\">approvals<\/a>, and complete workflow runs without needing to open Process Street.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9828\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Slack-approval.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019ve been assigned to a task, you can fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/form-fields\/\">form fields<\/a> and use features like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/getting-started-using-the-send-email-widget\/\">email widget<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/stop-tasks\/\">stop tasks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/conditional-logic\/\">conditional logic<\/a>, all from Slack.<\/p>\n<p>And for tasks you\u2019ve been assigned to approve, you can approve or reject them with the click of a button.<\/p>\n<p>All of your Process Street notifications will appear in Slack. You will receive instant notifications when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019re assigned to a task<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019re assigned to a workflow run<\/li>\n<li>A task you\u2019re assigned to is due<\/li>\n<li>An approval task you\u2019re assigned to is ready<\/li>\n<li>Your work has been approved or rejected<\/li>\n<li>A comment is left on your assigned task<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019re @mentioned in a comment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means that you could turn off your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/email-notifications\/\">email notifications<\/a> from Process Street and focus entirely on what&#8217;s happening in Slack.<\/p>\n<p>This allows you to focus on the work that\u2019s important to you, without navigating away from Slack. And you\u2019ll have one less tab open on your browser \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<h2>How do I set up the app?<\/h2>\n<p>You can set up the app in any or all of your Slack workspaces.<\/p>\n<h3>Set up on Enterprise Grid<\/h3>\n<p>To add the app across multiple workspaces, you can set this up from the Integrations section of your admin dashboard in Slack.\u00a0Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/help\/articles\/360000281563-Manage-apps-on-Enterprise-Grid#install-an-app-at-the-org-level\">managing apps on Enterprise Grid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Set up for an individual workspace<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.process.st\/login\">Login<\/a> to your Process Street account and your Slack account to get started.<\/p>\n<p>Search the app directory for &#8220;Process Street&#8221; and choose the app shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9826\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Process-Street-in-Slack-apps.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Only one person needs to add the app from the directory, which makes it available for your whole workspace.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Slack-allow-auth-new.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click &#8220;<strong>Allow<\/strong>&#8221; which creates a new channel for you, ready to start receiving notifications and tasks to work on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11395\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Slack-app-connect-disconnect.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you have authorized your new organization, you will receive a message like the one below, after which you and your team can start working directly from Slack.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9423 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Congrats-auth-message.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"741\" height=\"50\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Your team<\/h3>\n<p>Upon installation, Process Street for Slack will automatically detect if your team members are using Slack. Those who are will start receiving notifications for any task assignments, approvals, due dates, or mentions without any extra configuration on their part.<\/p>\n<h3>Your guests<\/h3>\n<p>The Slack App notification works for the Guests of your Slack workspaces as well. This will work for them in the same way as it does for your regular members as mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If the app is <strong>removed<\/strong>, this removes it from the <strong>entire workspace<\/strong>, not just for that user.<\/p>\n<p>Manage app installation settings for <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/intl\/en-gb\/help\/articles\/222386767-Manage-app-installation-settings-for-your-workspace\">your workspace in Slack<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>@Mentions<\/h3>\n<p>If you @mention colleagues from a Process Street organization, they will also need to have installed the Slack app for the same organization to receive notifications from you.<\/p>\n<h2>Notification settings<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to stop notifications at any time type &#8220;<strong>disconnect<\/strong>&#8221; in the Process Street Slack channel, or &#8220;<strong>connect<\/strong>&#8221; to start receiving notifications again.<\/p>\n<p>You can adjust how you see or hear Slack notifications on desktop, iOS or Android by <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/intl\/en-pt\/help\/articles\/201355156-Configure-your-Slack-notifications#desktop-3\">configuring your notifications<\/a> in Slack.<\/p>\n<h2>Multiple organizations<\/h2>\n<p>If you have multiple organizations in Process Street, you can configure the desired organization for your Slack app.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, navigate to your Process Street app in Slack. Switch to the <strong>About<\/strong> tab and click on <strong>Configuration<\/strong>. You will be redirected to your Slack app directory where you can make the changes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/configure-slack-app.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Navigate to the top right corner, where you can switch your Process Street organization then click <strong>Open in Slack<\/strong> to be taken back to your Slack app.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/switch-org-in-slack-app.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Slack, switch to your desired organization and go to the Process Street app. In the Messages tab, send the message <strong>disconnect<\/strong>. Once disconnected, send the message <strong>connect<\/strong> to receive notifications from the corresponding organization.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Limitations<\/h2>\n<p>There are certain actions that you will need to open up a workflow run or sign into Process Street to perform.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need to open a workflow run in Process Street to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upload files &#8211; in the Slack App you can download previously uploaded files<\/li>\n<li>View videos, embeds, and files (via a link which you can click to view in your browser)<\/li>\n<li>Add a time to date form fields \u2013 you can set the date part in Slack, but not the time part<\/li>\n<li>Reject an Approval with comments &#8211; you can approve or reject without comments in Slack<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need to sign into Process Street to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Run a workflow<\/li>\n<li>Assign users to tasks or workflow runs<\/li>\n<li>Snooze tasks<\/li>\n<li>Respond to comments<\/li>\n<li>Create or change due dates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Language<\/h2>\n<p>The Process Street Slack app is available in English.<\/p>\n<p>If English isn&#8217;t your first language, you can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/processstreet.slack.com\/apps\/A0ZJS6Z7E-translate\">translate messages inside Slack<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>By installing or using the Slack app you agree to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/privacy\/\">privacy policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Need help?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>New to <a href=\"http:\/\/slack.com\/\">Slack<\/a>?
