Automating them maximizes those aims.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, we&#8217;ll look at how you can save copies of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/file-widget\/\">file uploads<\/a> within workflow runs to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/drive\/\">Google Drive<\/a> in Google Workspace.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Users: In order to create an API key for integrations, you must be an Administrator.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Use case:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A contractor uploads a report to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/running-workflows\/\">workflow run<\/a> on completion<\/li>\n<li>The contractor wants a copy of that report to be saved to their Google Drive for backup, reference, and easy future sharing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Process overview:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We will run a workflow\u00a0with a file upload field<\/li>\n<li>We will connect this workflow to Google Drive via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/what-is-zapier\/\">Zapier<\/a><\/li>\n<li>We will set the zap to save the file to Google Drive when the task is checked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at how we can do this.<\/p>\n<h2>How to save Process Street uploads to Google Drive<\/h2>\n<p>We use the third-party <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/business-process-automation-guide\/\">automation<\/a> service Zapier to connect our platform with different web apps. Within Zapier\u2019s community, there are over 1000+ different web apps and services you can connect to.<\/p>\n<p>These connections are referred to as zaps.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, you will only need to set up the zap one time. This gives you the time to focus on the important things rather than repetitive tasks.<\/p>\n<h3>We&#8217;re going to connect this workflow to Zapier:<\/h3>\n<p>This is our general purpose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/electrical-inspection-checklist\/\">Electrical Inspection Workflow<\/a>\u00a0which can be found as part of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/electrical-inspection\/\">electrical inspection pack<\/a>. It is geared to provide for the safety of an inspector while undertaking a rough residential inspection.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/electrical-inspection-checklist\/\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Zapier is structured so that you pick a trigger and then an action. In our integration, checking off the relevant task is going to trigger the zap. The zap will then take the file and store a copy of it in Google Drive.<\/p>\n<h2>Connecting Process Street as your trigger<\/h2>\n<h3>Click on <em>Create Zap<\/em> and select Process Street<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10713\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive-choose-PS.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Set the trigger as New Attachment<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive.-new-attachment.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click continue.<\/p>\n<h3>Select the Process Street account you want to connect with or connect a new one<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive-choose-account.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click continue.<\/p>\n<h3>Select the workflow you want to connect to from the options<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive-select-workflow.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select to specify the author if multiple people are likely to be running this workflow. Click continue to test the zap to make sure it works and move on to the next stage.<\/p>\n<p>Testing requires you to have run your workflow and added an attachment into one of the comment attachments in a task. Once that&#8217;s done click test in Zapier and click continue to move forward.<\/p>\n<h2>Connecting Process Street to Google Drive<\/h2>\n<h3>Select Drive as your action and choose <em>Upload File<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10718\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive-upload-file.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Zapier will ask you to authorize your Google Drive account through a Google login. Select which Google account you wish to have associated with the Zap.<\/p>\n<p>Click continue.<\/p>\n<h3>Select where in the Drive you wish to save the file<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10721\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GDrive-choose-file-folder.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the file field, make sure to select the Process Street <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/form-fields\/\">form field<\/a> to fetch your file attachment from.
