assign tasks<\/li>\n<li>Generate reports and summaries based on Process Street data<\/li>\n<li>Analyze Process Street data and get AI-powered suggestions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Example requests users could make from outside Process Street using the MCP:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>&#8220;Create a new run of the Quarterly Access Review workflow and assign it to the compliance manager [sean@acme.com], if it&#8217;s not already been assigned to someone&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Find the most recent Client Onboarding workflow runs and show me where there are bottlenecks from incomplete tasks&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Search Data Set records for active vendors and, if they haven&#8217;t been reviewed in the past 6 months, mark them as Review&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The MCP server supports most Process Street <a href=\"https:\/\/public-api.process.st\/api\/v1.1\/docs\/index.html\">API endpoints<\/a> as tools.<\/p>\n<p>The MCP server uses your Process Street login credentials to access it, including organizations with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/single-sign-on-sso-at-process-street\/#supported-sso-providers\">SAML SSO<\/a> enabled.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><i>Admins, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/what-is-a-full-member\/\">Builders<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/what-is-a-guest-internal\/\">Users<\/a> can use the MCP server and\u00a0can only interact with resources they have permissions to.<\/i><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>A compatible MCP client, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Claude<\/b> (claude.ai)<\/li>\n<li><b>ChatGPT<\/b> (Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans for full access; Pro plans can connect with read-only access. On Business plans, only workspace admins and owners can add custom apps. On ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu, your ChatGPT admin may need to give you developer mode access first.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.process.st\/\">Process Street<\/a> (if you are part of more than one organization, switch to the one you&#8217;d like to connect the MCP with)<\/li>\n<li>In ChatGPT, go to <b>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Advanced settings<\/b> and turn on <b>Developer mode<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Go to <b>Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Create<\/b> and enter the Process Street MCP server URL: <code>https:\/\/mcp.process.st\/<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Set authentication to <b>OAuth<\/b> and leave the registration method on <b>Dynamic Client Registration<\/b>. You don&#8217;t need a client ID or secret.<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Scan Tools<\/b>, then sign in with your Process Street credentials and approve access<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Create<\/b>. Process Street appears under <b>Enabled Apps<\/b>, and its tools are available in your ChatGPT conversations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Tip:<\/b> ChatGPT usually asks you to confirm before running actions that modify data in Process Street (such as creating runs or updating tasks). Read-only actions like viewing workflows or pulling reports usually run without a confirmation prompt. Exact behavior depends on your ChatGPT app permissions.<\/p>\n<h3>Microsoft Copilot Studio<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.process.st\/\">Process Street<\/a> (If you are part of more than one organization, be sure to switch to the one you&#8217;d like to connect the MCP with)<\/li>\n<li>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365-copilot\/microsoft-copilot-studio\">Copilot Studio<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Create an Agent<\/li>\n<li>Add a tool, select Model Context Protocol and search for Process Street MCP Server<\/li>\n<li>Create a new connection<\/li>\n<li>Complete authentication<\/li>\n<li>Publish your Agent<\/li>\n<li>Connect the channels you&#8217;d like to connect the MCP with<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Authorizing access<\/h3>\n<p>Each time you connect an MCP client (through Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot Studio), Process Street displays an authorization screen. This screen shows the name of the application requesting access, the permissions (scopes) it needs, and the redirect URI, so you can confirm you recognize the application before granting access.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Approve<\/strong> to grant the application access to your Process Street data, or <strong>Cancel<\/strong> to deny the request. Canceling returns you to the connecting application without granting access.<\/p>\n<h3>Reviewing and disconnecting connected applications<\/h3>\n<p>After authorizing an application, you can review and manage all your connected applications from your personal settings.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click your avatar or profile photo in the top-right corner, then select <strong>My Profile<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Apps<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The <strong>Apps<\/strong> tab lists every OAuth-connected application across all organizations you belong to. Each row shows the application&#8217;s name, its redirect destination, the permissions (scopes) it has, and when it was connected and last active.<\/p>\n<p>The redirect destination appears directly below the application&#8217;s name and tells you where the application sends you after authentication. Web-based applications show their registered domain (for example, &#8220;claude.ai&#8221;), while local applications show &#8220;An app on your computer.&#8221; If an application has multiple destinations, they appear on one line separated by commas. This helps you tell apart applications that share the same display name \u2014 a legitimate client shows a domain you recognize, while an unrecognized domain is a sign to disconnect it.<\/p>\n<p>To disconnect an application, click <strong>Disconnect<\/strong> next to it, then confirm in the dialog. Once disconnected, the application can no longer obtain new access tokens. Any access it already has through previously issued tokens may remain valid for up to one hour.<\/p>\n<p>If no applications have been authorized yet, the tab shows an empty state.<\/p>\n<p>Connected applications that have not been active for 90 days are automatically disabled. When this happens, the application&#8217;s registration is removed and it disappears from the <strong>Apps<\/strong> tab \u2014 no manual disconnection needed. If you want to use that application again, reconnect it through the normal setup flow (DCR-supporting clients re-register automatically). This keeps your Apps list current without requiring you to prune old connections yourself.<\/p>\n<h3>Other clients<\/h3>\n<p>Process Street&#8217;s MCP server works with any application that supports the Model Context Protocol.<\/p>\n<h4>Connect with Dynamic Client Registration (recommended)<\/h4>\n<p>If your client supports OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration, point it to the MCP server URL and the client handles registration automatically:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add <code>https:\/\/mcp.process.st\/<\/code> as a remote MCP server in your client<\/li>\n<li>When prompted for a registration method, choose <strong>Dynamic Client Registration<\/strong> (usually the default)<\/li>\n<li>Leave the client ID and client secret empty<\/li>\n<li>Sign in with your Process Street credentials and approve access<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This method works with VS Code, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and most other modern MCP clients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Some clients, such as Gemini Enterprise, don&#8217;t support DCR and require the API key method below instead.<\/p>\n<h4>Connect with an API key<\/h4>\n<p>For clients that don&#8217;t support OAuth or DCR, add Process Street as a <strong>remote MCP server<\/strong> and authenticate with a <strong>bearer token<\/strong>, using a Process Street API key as the token.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need two things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The MCP server URL: <code>https:\/\/mcp.process.st\/<\/code><\/li>\n<li>A Process Street API key. Admins can generate one from the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.process.st\/organizations\/manage\/integrations\">integrations page<\/a> in the organization manager. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/process-street-api\/\">Process Street API<\/a> for details, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/restricted-api-keys\/\">Restricted API keys<\/a> if you want to limit what the key can do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then add an <code>Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY<\/code> header to your client&#8217;s MCP configuration. Two common examples follow. Treat your API key like a password.<\/p>\n<h4>VS Code<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> VS Code supports Dynamic Client Registration. Instead of the API key configuration below, add Process Street as a remote MCP server, choose Dynamic Client Registration when prompted, and leave the client ID and secret empty. VS Code handles the OAuth flow automatically.<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer to connect with an API key, add the server to <code>.vscode\/mcp.json<\/code> in your workspace, or open your user configuration with the <strong>MCP: Open User Configuration<\/strong> command.
