Need to reference a specific workflow or workflow run by its unique ID? Two new variables \u2014 Workflow ID<\/strong> and Workflow Run ID<\/strong> \u2014 make that information available directly inside your workflows, no external tools required.<\/p>\n

What changed<\/h2>\n

Until now, retrieving a workflow’s ID or a workflow run’s ID meant reaching for a Zapier Zap, a Power Automate Flow, or a direct API call. That extra step added complexity, especially when all you needed was a simple reference ID to pass along in an email, log in a form field, or send to an external system.<\/p>\n

Now, Workflow ID and Workflow Run ID are available as built-in variables you can insert anywhere variables are supported \u2014 text widgets, email widgets, form field default values, integration links, and more.<\/p>\n

How to use the new variables<\/h2>\n

  1. Open a workflow in the editor.<\/li>\n
  2. Click into any text area that supports variables (for example, a text widget or an email widget).<\/li>\n
  3. Type {{<\/code> or click the variable insert button to open the variable picker.<\/li>\n
  4. Select Workflow ID<\/strong> or Workflow Run ID<\/strong> from the list.<\/li>\n
  5. Save and publish your workflow. Each workflow run will now populate the variable with the correct ID automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
