Product Catalog

The Zonos Duty and Tax app requires the enablement of Shopify's Carrier Service API to successfully rate a fully landed cost in the checkout. If you are unsure if this feature is enabled please reach out to Shopify support for confirmation.

Ensure that Shopify's taxes and duties settings are updated appropriately. Zonos-enabled ship to countries should show as not collecting in the taxes and duties section.

Navigate to:

• From the Shopify admin, go to Settings -> Taxes and duties.

The physical weight value set at the product level is used to calculate the shipping costs of a shipment. To ensure carrier-calculated shipping rates are accurate in the checkout, we recommend adding a physical weight value to all active Shopify SKUs. 

Active SKUs that are missing a physical weight value in the product detail will rate carrier-calcualted shipping rates inaccurately.

How to Edit and Update Product Weights in Shopify

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products -> All products.
2. Click the title of the product that you want to add weight to.
3. Scroll down to the Shipping section.
   1. If the product has variants, you'll need to click one of the variants in the Variant section to see the Shipping section.
4. Enter the weight under Weight.
5. Click Save.

Shopify supports setting an HS Code and Country of Origin (CoO) value in the product detail for each SKU. If a value is present, the Zonos app will use that data when calculating the duty and tax at checkout. The Shopify data will also be displayed on the commercial invoice when creating the shipment. 

How to Edit and Update Product Weights in Shopify

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Products -> All products.
2. Click the title of the product to which you want to add the HS code and country of origin.
3. Scroll down to the Shipping section.
   1. If the product has variants, you'll need to click one of the variants in the Variant section to see the Shipping section.
4. Enter the HS code and country of origin under "Customs Information."
5. Click Save.

The Zonos catalog can be used to manage dimensional weight rating, country-level product restrictions, and customs information (HS code and Country of Origin). If you would like Zonos to manage those aspects of your catalog, fill out the attached file and upload below.

Template examples:

• Add Dimensional Weight: column A, column H, I, J
• Add HS Code(s): column A, column O
• Add Country of Origin: column A, column N
• Add Country Restriction(s): column A, column M (2 digit ISO country code required)

Dimensional weight is determined by the carrier based on the height, width, and depth of your packages.

If your dimensional weight is larger than your order's weight, then your customer is charged for the dimensional weight of their shipment. 

Uploading product dimensions to your Zonos catalog will ensure that shipping is quoted accurately at the checkout.

Required details:

• SKU#: column A
• Dimensional Unit: column G (ounces, pounds, grams, and kilograms)
• Length: column H
• Width: column I
• Height: column J

To rate a SKU that ships in multiple boxes accurately the attached template should be filled out. For example, if a single SKU number ships in 2 or 3 boxes the attached template will ensure that the shopper is quoted for 2 to 3 boxes. Instead of just one parcel.

Required template detail:

1. Column A: leave blank
2. Column B: repeat the sku number to reflect the number of boxes it ships out in
3. Column C-F: add corresponding weights and dimensions of each box

Included with your setup are shipment rating tool cartonization and three advanced shipping rules. These add-ons are optional to use and should be used during the onboarding process if possible. 

Cartonization

What is it: Added feature that provides a shipping quote based on shipping box size rather than your item weights or dimensions.

When to use it: Is meant to be used when dimensional weight influences your shipping cost and your item dimensions do not give the full picture of how much space the order will take up when shipped.

How to set up cartonization: 

1. Provide Zonos with your product dimensions. You can do this one of two ways:
   1. Input all of your item dimensions into the Zonos catalog.
   2. Add your item dimensions to your product listings in your ecommerce platform. This option can only be used if your ecommerce platform passes dimensions to Zonos.
2. Add your shipping box dimensions to the attached template and upload.

Advanced Shipping Rules

Your assigned Project Manager will work with you to scope out the advanced shipping rules. A call may be needed to review the requirements for each rule. Please checkout

Included in your yearly platform subscription are 10,000 product classifications. Bulk classification is a good way to obtain the 6-digit HS code for a large portion of your product catalog quickly. 

To ensure accurate classification, it is recommended to provide as many fields as possible.

• The only required field to request a bulk classification is 'description'.
• The template must be uploaded with the exact header columns; if a header is deleted, the upload will fail.

Create a new warehouse location if the ship from differs from the address listed in the Zonos general settings.

• City, State, Zip code
• Phone#
• Email

There are two steps needed to complete the Zonos installation in Shopify. First, the Zonos app will need to be downloaded. Second, the platform subscription will need to be accepted. Follow the steps outlined below to complete.

Steps:

1. Download Zonos app from the Shopify app store.
2. Click Install

3. Copy your credentials from your Zonos account (settings -> integrations)

   1. Zonos account number
   2. Rest API key
   3. GraphQL Key
4. In Shopify, paste your Zonos credentials
5. Click save
6. Select subscription type (reference on Zonos order form)
7. Click approve
8. Do not enable the Zonos app
