These need to be identified so that an effective analysis can take place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Effects analysis<\/strong> is the process of tracking the causes of these problems and taking the necessary steps to prioritize the failures. You want to reach a point where <strong>your scope can be defined with only two words<\/strong>. The standard practice is to try to reduce the scope down to a verb followed by a noun.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Intro to FMEA Template section, there is an example grid of an analysis of an ATM. This scope could be reduced to \"deliver cash\" or \"disburse money\". You can<strong> use the form field provided<\/strong> for these exploratory notes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you need to redefine the function to add detail to assist identifying failure modes, do so.<\/p>\n<p>When you have each function documented, <strong>write each of your functions and their failure modes into your FMEA grid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"textarea-field-content form-field-content\">\n<div class=\"form-group\">\n   <label> Functions and failure modes <\/label><br \/>\n<textarea placeholder=\"Something will be typed here...\" rows=\"3\" disabled=\"\" class=\"form-control\"><\/textarea><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"identify-all-the-consequences-for-each-failure-mode\">\n<h2>Identify all the consequences for each failure mode<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Once you have your different failure modes documented in your grid, you can<strong> identify all the consequences<\/strong> to the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>system,<\/li>\n<li>related systems,<\/li>\n<li>process,<\/li>\n<li>related processes,<\/li>\n<li>product,<\/li>\n<li>service,<\/li>\n<li>customer,<\/li>\n<li>or regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are potential effects of failure. Not all will be relevant to your analysis but all should be considered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Take a customer-centric approach<\/strong> and consider questions such as: \u201cWhat does the customer experience because of this failure?
