Fantastic! Now all you have to do is get the product to its new owner.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, this isn't as simple as it sounds. Items can get lost, orders mistaken, and products mixed up, and that's to say nothing of how long the whole procedure takes.<\/p>\n<p>That's why we here at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Process Street<\/a> made this order fulfillment process.<\/p>\n<p>By running this checklist for every order you receive, you can effectively delegate and track the entire order fulfillment procedure right up until the customer receives the product.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone involved can just look in their assigned task to see what they need to do, and there's no chance of products getting mixed up because all information to do with the order can be automatically pushed into your checklist.<\/p>\n<p>Let's deliver your products to some soon-to-be-happy customers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"receiving-an-order\">\n<h2>Receiving an order:<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"record-order-details\">\n<h2>Record order details<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>First up in this order fulfillment checklist you need to <strong>record<\/strong> the <strong>details of your customer's order<\/strong>. This is the slip which <strong>indicates<\/strong> the <strong>type and number of products<\/strong> ordered by the customer, but without indicating the price of each item.<\/p>\n<p>This will typically state the delivery and billing addresses for the order, along with the order date and number, and the item numbers, description, and quantities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pair this with your items<\/strong> for now to make sure that it doesn't get lost. That is, you need to <strong>print it out<\/strong> and<strong> put it with the products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Invoices are typically the same as your packing slip, except they <strong>also include<\/strong> the <strong>price<\/strong> of each item. This includes both finding <strong>suitable containers<\/strong> for the items and using extra materials to <strong>make sure<\/strong> the <strong>products don't move around<\/strong> in the containers.<\/p>\n<p>Usually you'll want to send all items for the same customer in a single box, but depending on the products this might not be possible. For example, if the items are exceptionally fragile or just very large, you'll have to put them into two separate boxes.<\/p>\n<p>To fill in whatever space is left over, use <strong>packing peanuts, kraft paper,<\/strong> plain <strong>newsprint, bubble wrap<\/strong> or <strong>air pillows<\/strong>. Fill the container until the product cannot move around as it is being transported.<\/p>\n<p>Also, remember to <strong>put the packing slip and printed invoice inside<\/strong> your container before sealing it.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, <strong>secure the box(es)<\/strong> with strong packing tape.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"weigh-and-measure-products\">\n<h2>Weigh and measure products<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Now it's time to <strong>weigh and measure the products<\/strong> to get an idea of how they should be delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Weigh and measure the boxes or containers you've packaged your products into, then <strong>record<\/strong> those <strong>figures<\/strong> using the <strong>form field<\/strong>&nbsp;below<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"textarea-field-content form-field-content\">\n<div class=\"form-group\">\n   <label> Product weights and dimensions <\/label><br \/>\n   <textarea placeholder=\"Something will be typed here...\" rows=\"3\" disabled class=\"form-control\"><\/textarea>\n  <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"attach-the-shipping-label-to-the-packaging\">\n<h2>Attach the shipping label to the packaging<\/h2>\n<div class=\"image-content\">\n<figure>\n   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/gwrKhOeQbNKYxVrjeIxLLA.png\" alt=\"Attach the shipping label to the packaging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/gwrKhOeQbNKYxVrjeIxLLA.png\"> <\/a><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>The final step in packaging your products is to <strong>attach the<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>shipping label<\/strong> to the appropriate box(es). This will indicate to your delivery service <strong>where the product needs to go<\/strong>, and will allow you and the customer to <strong>track the parcel<\/strong> as it is being delivered.<\/p>\n<p>Remember to <strong>upload<\/strong> a <strong>copy<\/strong> of the shipping label used to the <strong>form field<\/strong> below.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style-info\">After this step, there's an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/help\/docs\/approvals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">approval task<\/a> for your warehouse manager. They will ensure that you've packaged the product properly. If you have, the manager will <strong>approve<\/strong> the dispatching of the product. While this isn't always possible (especially with smaller operations), it's good practice to <strong>check your other open orders<\/strong> and delivery windows to see if you can fit the current order in the same load.<\/p>\n<p>In practice the overlapping deliveries will vary wildly based on the size and nature of your operation. If you use a courier such as FedEx or UPS, bunching orders together will just allow you to hand all of them off at once.<\/p>\n<p>If, however, you have your own delivery service, grouping orders is a fantastic way to save money, since you can just extend an existing journey instead of arranging two trips.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"textarea-field-content form-field-content\">\n<div class=\"form-group\">\n   <label> Orders with compatible delivery windows <\/label><br \/>\n   <textarea placeholder=\"Something will be typed here...\" rows=\"3\" disabled class=\"form-control\"><\/textarea>\n  <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"arrange-the-delivery\">\n<h2>Arrange the delivery<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>It's time to <strong>arrange the delivery<\/strong> for your order.&nbsp;The main thing to remember here is which orders (if any) you're <strong>grouping together<\/strong>, as this will usually dictate the window you can fit the delivery into.<\/p>\n<p>After considering these aspects along with any delivery preferences or dates specific by your orders, make arrangements for the products to be delivered.
