Bleach solutions are effective for disinfection up to 24 hours, so be sure to <strong>prepare a new batch every day<\/strong> or as often as you need.<\/p>\n  <p><strong>Prepare the bleach solution by mixing<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n  <p>5 tablespoons (1\/3rd&nbsp;cup) bleach per gallon of room temperature water<\/p>\n  <p><em>or<\/em><\/p>\n  <p>4 teaspoons bleach per quart of room temperature water<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"soft-porous-surfaces\">\n <h2>Soft (porous) surfaces:<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"remove-visible-contamination\">\n <h2>Remove visible contamination<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>The first step for soft (porous) surfaces (i.e. carpeted floor, rugs, drapes, etc.) is to <strong>remove any foreign contamination<\/strong> if present.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"clean-with-appropriate-cleaners\">\n <h2>Clean with appropriate cleaners<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>Then, <strong>clean the soft surfaces using the appropriate cleaners<\/strong> that have been indicated for use on the specific surfaces.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"launder-items\">\n <h2>Launder items<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>After you've cleaned the soft surfaces, <strong>launder them following the manufacturer\u2019s instructions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n  <p>If you can, <strong>launder them using the warmest water setting and allow them to dry completely<\/strong>.<\/p>\n  <p>Otherwise, you can <strong>use products that have been EPA-approved<\/strong> to use against the target virus and that can be used for soft, porous surfaces.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"electronics\">\n <h2>Electronics:<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"remove-visible-contamination-1\">\n <h2>Remove visible contamination<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>For electronics (i.e. cell phones, tablets, touch screens, remote controls, keyboards, etc.), <strong>begin by removing any visible contamination<\/strong> if present.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"follow-the-manufacturers-instructions-to-disinfect\">\n <h2>Follow the manufacturer\u2019s instructions to disinfect<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>Then, <strong>refer to the manufacturer\u2019s instructions<\/strong> on cleaning and disinfecting the products.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <div class=\"select-field-content form-field-content\">\n  <div class=\"form-group\">\n   <label> Is the manufacturer's guidance available? <\/label> <select disabled class=\"form-control\"> <option value=\"An option will be selected here\">An option will be selected here<\/option> <\/select>\n  <\/div>\n  <ul class=\"items\">\n   <li class=\"item\">\n    <div class=\"step-number-container\">\n     <div class=\"step-number\">\n      1\n     <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"step-checkbox-container\">\n     <div class=\"step-checkbox\"><\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"item-name-static\">\n     Yes\n    <\/div><\/li>\n   <li class=\"item\">\n    <div class=\"step-number-container\">\n     <div class=\"step-number\">\n      2\n     <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"step-checkbox-container\">\n     <div class=\"step-checkbox\"><\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"item-name-static\">\n     No\n    <\/div><\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"conditional-use-of-alcoholbased-wipes-or-sprays-to-disinfect\">\n <h2>[Conditional] Use of alcohol-based wipes or sprays to disinfect<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p>If manufacturer guidance isn't available, <strong>use alcohol-based wipes\/sprays that contain a minimum of 70% alcohol<\/strong> to disinfect touch screens.<\/p>\n  <p>Then, <strong>dry the surfaces completely<\/strong> to minimize any pooling of liquids.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"linens-clothing-and-other-items-that-go-in-the-laundry\">\n <h2>Linens, clothing, and other items that go in the laundry:<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"wear-disposable-gloves-1\">\n <h2>Wear disposable gloves<\/h2>\n <div class=\"text-content\">\n  <p><strong>Always put on disposable gloves<\/strong> before handling dirty laundry and <strong>throw them away after every use<\/strong>.<\/p>\n  <p>If you're using reusable gloves, make sure to designate them solely for the cleaning\/disinfecting of surfaces for COVIC-19.
