It is vital that you don't make up your own keywords and get caught up in the trap of using words that are too general and competitive in search.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><u><strong>Example:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/u><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Long tail key word is<\/strong> 'Dynamic Tennis Player' (Tennis or Tennis player is too general)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog post \/ Video idea:<\/strong> How to Become a Dynamic Tennis Player that Wins Every Time !<\/p>\n<p>OR for a more local business: How to Become a Dynamic Tennis Player that Wins in the Competitive Sydney Tennis Scene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2)<u> Research the competitor blogs and sites<\/u><\/strong> for the business - especially the high traffic, bigger sites in the niche. Anyone in the content marketing niche would view this as a competitor site to watch.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously if this in not the niche of the business you are working with you wouldn't use this example. This is being used for illustrative purposes only here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you look at the image above, you\u2019ll see&nbsp;a list of all the blog posts on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.copyblogger.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Copyblogger<\/a>. The Quick Sprout tool organises the&nbsp;list&nbsp;based on social shares, putting&nbsp;the most popular posts at the top.<\/p>\n<p>One of Copyblogger\u2019s most&nbsp;popular posts happens to be&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.copyblogger.com\/ingredients\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.copyblogger.com\/ingredients<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next we need to look into that post to see what the full title was so we can try to develop our own similar but slightly different titles that might also get such traffic.<\/p>\n<p>To find out the title of the post, type that URL into your browser.&nbsp;You will see the full title of the post was&nbsp;<em><strong>\u201c11 Essential Ingredients Every Blog Post Needs [Infographic].\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When you find competitors that have<u><strong> similar audiences to the businesses you are working with,<\/strong><\/u> &nbsp;you can suggest writing blog posts on the same topic <u><em>with a different slant<\/em><\/u> and it will likely do quite well also.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>&nbsp;<em><strong>You <u>cannot<\/u> just copy people<\/strong><\/em> \u2013&nbsp;you don\u2019t want the business to inherit the bad name of being a blog that regurgitates the same old information and is a copycat !<\/p>\n<p>Instead, you want to take this&nbsp;title and suggest to the person who has been identified as the content creator (either the writer or business person) to put a different spin on it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Using the example of Copyblogger here again - <em>if your niche was a content marketing blog<\/em> and you were trying to re spin the article that did well for Copyblogger - &nbsp;here\u2019s how you could potentially spin \u201c11 Essential Ingredients Every Blog Post Needs [Infographic]\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 Essential Ingredients Every Landing Page Needs [Infographic]<\/li>\n<li>11 Essential Ingredients Every Landing Page Needs<\/li>\n<li>11 Essential Ingredients Every E-Commerce Site Needs<\/li>\n<li>11 Essential Ingredients Every SEO Campaign Needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you look at the four variations created above, you\u2019ll see that the first one is similar to the original title. The phrase \u201cblog post\u201d has just been changed to \u201clanding page&quot; - which is another topic area within the area of content marketing.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Note: <\/strong><\/u><strong><em>Creating Infographics requires a content creator <u>and <\/u>a graphic designer <\/em><\/strong>- both of which are available in the 'Hub' but at extra fees so please be aware if you are suggesting an infographic idea to a business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualangelhub.com\/hire-an-angel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Angels<\/a> <strong>can create simple Infographics using a clever little tool called<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/piktochart.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pictochart<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As for the third and&nbsp;fourth variations, the phrase \u201cblog post\u201d has been replaced with phrases \u201ce-commerce site\u201d and \u201cSEO campaign.\u201d - both of which are other topic areas within the whole content marketing arena.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to consult the business owner on what you have found and get them to suggest other topic areas within their broader industry \/ business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The job of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualangelhub.com\/hire-an-angel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Angel<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualangelhub.com\/hire-an-angel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;<\/a>is to come up with these examples, suggest how to use them to the business and then work to promote and capitalise on the content after it is created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The business owners job&nbsp;<\/strong>is to figure out how best to use it to create content and who is going to create that content for them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ok ... it's time for the next step ....&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"step-3--choose-the-post-type-you-will-use-to-incorporate-the-keywords\">\n<h2>Step 3 - Choose the post type you will use to incorporate the Keywords<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"step-4-agree--record-who-will-create-what-pieces-of-content\">\n<h2>Step 4: Agree &amp; Record who will create what pieces of content<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Although it is <u>not<\/u>&nbsp;the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualangelhub.com\/hire-an-angel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virtual Angel'<\/a>s&nbsp;job to create the actual content, <u><strong>it is your job to project manage the content<\/strong><\/u> from idea generation right through to it appearing on the website, being promoted on social media and then being repurposed for maximum impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this step it is important that you and the business \/ content creator agree what pieces of content are planned based on what you presented to them and a deadline for when they will be ready.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You add this information to the <strong>content planner <\/strong>and your job is to try to <strong>keep things on track,<\/strong> <strong>keep people focussed on the deadlines (<\/strong>although if it is the business owner creating the content these will likely blowout !!)&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may need a video editor<\/strong> to edit a video in order for that content piece to go live so keep this in mind in your planning for video content.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Chief Video Magician<\/strong> is part of the 'Hub' and video editing can be done cheaply and quickly right inside the hub so you can suggest this to the business owner. They can access this in the Get Resources section of the <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualangelhub.com\/members\/login\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">VAH Client Portal.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"step-5-select-images-to-go-with-the-content-piece\">\n<h2>Step 5: Select Images to go with the content piece<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Images that accompany written content make it far more appealing and far more shareable. <strong>Content that has appealing images has been shown to get far more traction<\/strong> than content without.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition the images can be pinned on pinterest and shared on other social media channels so it important to add social sharing buttons if you can. This enables readers to share the images if they want.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>We recommend min 2 images per written blog post <\/strong>but depending on length of post more images can work well too. Also adding videos and slide shares or infographics is very effective.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These<strong><u> images must reflect<\/u><\/strong> the <strong><em>philosophy, branding, look and feel of the business as a whole<\/em><\/strong>, <em>be appealing to the target audience of the content piece and preferably be something the works well with the topic or area the content pieces touches on.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pick out a tip, headline, quote or shortened idea<\/strong> from the content piece and using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canva.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canva<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.picmonkey.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>PicMonkey<\/strong><\/a> add the words to the images to connect the images with the content.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then add the watermark of the logo somewhere on the image so it is there but not obstructing the image content and idea.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/energisewealth.com\/selling-and-making-money\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">See this blog post as an example of this step in action !&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"step-6-create-the-blog-post-on-wordpress-in-a-readable-format\">\n<h2>Step 6: Create the 'blog post' on wordpress in a readable format<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Content will get more eyeballs and readers staying much longer if the layout of the page is more <strong>conducive to easy reading<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These days every site MUST be mobile responsive or else Google will penalise it in the search listings. One of the methods of making sure it is mobile friendly is making sure that blog posts are easy to read on mobile. This means breaking up paragraphs into shorter pieces and following the steps below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It matters !&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>So don't skip this step and think it's just for vanity. Its not !&nbsp;<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Here's how to make the post more readable:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Break the text up so it is not presenting in big long paragraphs. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead have a number of shorter paragraphs broken up be 'sub headlines'. These sub headlines are sentences that naturally stand out and convey a point - or they could be a quote or statistic that was used in the piece.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When people read a post like this they can easily scan it and 'speed read' it to get the main points.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Place the images strategically throughout the post<\/strong> and in different positions on the page to create depth and difference. Don't have all the images on the left side or all on the one spot. Scatter them through the post making sure the image works for the spot where you are placing it in the post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Don't leave big white spaces that look like there's something missing<\/strong>. The post needs tohave a evenness about it so it flows. If you post a picture to the left them it will likely need text to the right to balance it out. Don't put images in the centre and leave big blank spaces either side unless the image is really strategic and works well across the middle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Consider using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clicktotweet.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">'Click to Tweet'<\/a> plugin<\/strong> so you can highlight quotes or tips from the article and people reading them can literally click on it to share the tip or quote. See the example below for this in action. It is also very bad for business branding and customer experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) If the Call to Action has a sign up box - does the sign up box actually work<\/strong> and where does it send people? Do they get a confirmation email or do they get sent to a thank you page?
