Certain ropes, like climbing rope, have to be taken care of more than others and shouldn't be left in direct sunlight for too long.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"bring-your-temporary-transportation-tag-and-ziptie\">\n<h2>Bring your temporary transportation tag and ziptie<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Make sure you <strong>have your temporary transportation tag<\/strong> if you live in a state where this is a requirement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you don't live in a state which requires this,<strong> consider attaching one anyway as best practice<\/strong>. If questioned about your catch you can more easily demonstrate the situation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.in.gov\/dnr\/fishwild\/files\/tempdeer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Here's an example of tags in Indiana.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"pack-a-gps-and-a-backup-map-with-compass\">\n<h2>Pack a GPS and a backup map with compass<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>In the modern world of technology and satellites, <strong>a GPS is the standard way to navigate and avoid getting lost!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, on the off chance that something happens to your GPS, <strong>always carry a spare map and compass<\/strong> to save yourself from getting lost. If you're out in the wilderness, not taking your manual backup tools is a big risk.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"stock-up-on-water-and-snacks\">\n<h2>Stock up on water and snacks<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p><strong>Take plenty of water with you.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A good approach is to carry a flexible water pouch as well as your normal bottle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorgearlab.com\/a\/11118\/The-Best-Water-Storage-Solution-for-Backpacking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Check out a range of options here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>High sugar snacks<\/strong> are also a good suggestion. <strong>Flapjack or similar provide all the nutrition you'll need<\/strong> to stay aware and have a successful hunt.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"pack-extra-ammunition\">\n<h2>Pack extra ammunition<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Decide how much ammunition you need before you leave.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Then throw some more in<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You don't want to weigh yourself down with a shop worth of ammunition, but it's one of those things <strong>you don't think about until you don't have it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"image-content\">\n<figure>\n   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/rqPRyFDw8JuBptvRTf5M5A.jpg\" alt=\"Maybe not this much ammunition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.process.st\/templates\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/rqPRyFDw8JuBptvRTf5M5A.jpg\"> <\/a><figcaption>\n     Maybe not this much ammunition<br \/>\n   <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"include-a-small-saw\">\n<h2>Include a small saw<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Your knife may be sharper than it has ever been, but<strong> it will struggle to eat through bone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember to pack a small saw<\/strong> to help with those solid obstacles.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"have-your-cell-phone-on-you\">\n<h2>Have your cell phone on you<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Whether you can expect to have <strong>signal or not out in the wilderness depends on where you've chosen to go.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless,<strong> it doesn't hurt to take your phone<\/strong> with you. In case of emergency,<strong> a phone can be incredibly useful.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The film <em>127 Hours<\/em> would have been a lot shorter if James Franco hadn't left his phone at home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"tell-two-people-where-you-will-be-and-the-details\">\n<h2>Tell two people where you will be and the details<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p><strong>Tell at least two people<\/strong> where you are going to be and what time you'll be there until.<\/p>\n<p>These people can act <strong>as your emergency contacts<\/strong>. If you become injured or uncontactable and are in danger, <strong>these emergency contacts will save your life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"bring-rubber-gloves-and-paper-towels-for-the-dressing\">\n<h2>Bring rubber gloves and paper towels for the dressing<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Dealing with a fresh carcass is a messy job.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bring the appropriate protective equipment<\/strong> when dealing with the insides of a dead animal.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"pack-your-treestand-harness\">\n<h2>Pack your treestand harness<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Depending on where you're hunting and what you're hunting, you'll <strong>require different specialist equipment.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you're going to be using a treestand, then make sure to <strong>bring everything you need to use it safely. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch this little hazards and risks. <strong>It's not unusual to have hurt yourself at some point when on a hunt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Make sure you've packed a first aid kit<\/strong> so that you aren't risking any infection from cuts, or even more serious concerns.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"add-binoculars-or-rangefinder\">\n<h2>Add binoculars or rangefinder<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>20\/20 vision might be good enough in the real world, but out here you need something a bit stronger.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember to pack your binoculars or rangefinder.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"after-harvesting-your-catch\">\n<h2>After Harvesting Your Catch:<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"make-sure-the-animal-is-not-suffering\">\n<h2>Make sure the animal is not suffering<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Don't let the animal suffer.<strong> End any suffering in a humane manner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"field-dress-your-catch\">\n<h2>Field dress your catch<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Once you've successfully made your catch, it's<strong> time to field dress the carcass.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you don't have much experience with field dressing, there are<strong> plenty of videos online which can guide you class=\"text-content\">\n<p>Make sure you check in your catch after the hunt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best practice is to do so at the earliest opportunity<\/strong>, but it is recommended to<strong> check-in within 24 hours of the hunt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.agfc.com\/hunting\/pages\/huntingcheckinggame.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The AGFC even have a mobile app for you to use<\/a>, if you happen to live within their jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"take-the-carcass-to-a-processor-or-do-it-yourself\">\n<h2>Take the carcass to a processor or do it yourself<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text-content\">\n<p>After the hunt is done, you can either choose to process the carcass yourself or take it to a professional.<\/p>\n<p><a
