Doff personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform hand hygiene

Don fresh PPE for cleaning procedures

Begin high-level disinfection procedures on all high-touch surfaces in the operating room

Ensure all surfaces, including lights, trays, and monitors are disinfected

Clean the floor with hospital-grade disinfectant

Perform disinfection procedures on equipment following manufacturers' instructions

Change mop heads and cleaning cloths regularly during cleaning

Replace sharps container if full

Clean and disinfect the operating table

Check operating room equipment for potential maintenance issues

Place all dirty linens in a sealed bag for cleaning

Restock all necessary supplies in the operating room

Perform final sweep of the operating room for cleanliness

Document all cleaning activities
