This pool construction process is geared to take a small business through all the necessary steps to effectively install a swimming pool in a residential location. 

A swimming pool is an aspirational addition to your property. It is something that families may save up for and dream of having in their home. Seeing as it means so much to people to have the opportunity to have their own pool in their back garden, it is important that we make sure any pool installation process is done correctly. 

As you work your way through this checklist you can record your progress in the form fields provided. Starting with the client details and finishing with the final touches, this info gathering will keep a record of the work you've done.

The first step in any project is to perform a risk assessment at the beginning before any work is done. 

When performing a risk assessment, always look to be as thorough as possible. This risk assessment from Imperial College London is a good example of a rigorous risk assessment.

The excavation process is messy and dirty but you can't build an inground pool without it. 

You have to spend a few days digging away at the ground to create the excavation, and then more time making sure the hole which has been excavated meets the exact parameters necessary to launch the rest of the project. 

Sometimes things can be found in the excavation process which have the potential to hold the project up.

Different contractors may use different materials for the supporting architecture of a pool, but all will use something strong and sturdy. 

Steel makes for an effective and robust material to use to reinforce your pool construction. 

Add the framing in to provide the solid support needed. 

When it comes to plumbing, the materials are everything. 

Make sure you're using National Sanitation Foundation approved pipes and fixtures.

Constructing the shell of the pool is an important part of the process. One of the key reasons behind its importance is that the client finally sees what looks like a pool in their backgarden rather than a hole in the ground.

Different pools can be made from different materials, but a substance like gunite - which is a mixture of sand, rock, and cement - can be a good choice for a task like this. 

If you do opt to use gunite, you will have to have a 5 day treatment period. Each day, 3 times a day in the sunlight, you need to water the pool and soak it with a hosepipe. 

This will help the gunite set. You can record your progress with the subchecklist below.

Now install the tiling within the pool. 

This is where the pool really becomes a pool.

This depends on what the client requested but often in pool construction jobs there is a patio-like space requested also. 

They may request decking or tiling and the process is similar for each. Clear the area where the decking will be and lay concrete down. Afterward, construct your patio of whatever materials on top.

It's important all your electrical systems are installed correctly and are working well.

It is even more important that they are installed safely.

Once you've finished building the pool, make sure everything has been cleaned and cleared away. 

We don't want the client's backyard to look like a crash site. The big reveal of the final product at the end will be a lot more intense if there isn't a messy backdrop.

Perform a last check of all structural and system elements.

If you're adding a protective surface finish, now is the ideal time to do so.

You can use Zapier to connect this task in this template to your invoice so that you can automate the sending process. 

In Zapier, select "Make a Zap" and search for Process Street. It will prompt you to create a trigger - select "New Task Checked". It should then prompt you to connect your Process Street account to your Zapier one. You simply follow the link Settings & API tab of the organization manager on the pop-up.

Follow the steps provided by Zapier and it should connect the two accounts together. From here it will let you search for the template you want to run the Zap from, and choose the task you want to hook it up to.

After you've selected those options you can test that step and your trigger should be set. 

Next, you can create the action to be initiated by your trigger. You can use a third party system like WebMerge or you can use Zapier's built-in email service to generate HTML emails. Either of these solutions can be used to generate and send your invoice.
