Login to the Inventory Management System
To start the process, log in to the Inventory Management System using your username and password. This task is crucial as it ensures authorized access to the system and allows you to perform inventory management tasks. Without logging in, you will not be able to access the POS module and carry out transactions.
Navigate to POS module
After successfully logging in, navigate to the POS module. This module enables you to process Point of Sale transactions and manage sales-related activities. By navigating to this module, you gain access to all the necessary tools and options required to carry out the transaction process.
Scan or input product SKU
Scan the product's SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) barcode or manually input the SKU code into the system. The SKU uniquely identifies the product in the inventory database. This step ensures that the correct product is selected for the transaction.
Verify product details
After scanning or inputting the product SKU, verify the product details displayed on the screen to ensure accuracy. This includes checking the product name, description, price, and any other relevant information. If any discrepancies or errors are found, consult with a supervisor or relevant personnel to rectify the issue.
Input product quantity
Enter the quantity of the product being purchased by the customer. This step ensures that the system accurately determines the total amount to be charged and updates the inventory accordingly. Make sure to double-check the quantity entered to avoid any mistakes in the transaction.
Select or input customer details
Select the customer's details from the available options or input their information manually. This step ensures that the transaction is associated with the correct customer and enables the system to maintain accurate sales records. If the customer is new or not listed, gather their information and input it manually.
