Gather the following information from your new customer:
Next once you have gathered the information, you will want to request an account number with a credit line from Landstar. The attachment below will show you how to do so. Before you go through this step, calculate how much of a credit line you will need.
Asking your new customer for an estimated volume per week/month/or year and multiplying by the 'ball park' average rate per each load. Example: $1000 avg rate x 25 loads weekly = $25,000 x 4 weeks ~ $100,000 credit line
Gathering point of contacts from as many departments as possible can be a great key in building a strong customer relationship.
Example of point of contacts:
Transportation/Logistics manager, transportation coordinator, Accounts Payables, purchasing, sales, CEO/President (upper management)
Once a customer account number and name have been established in the Landstar System, you will need to add them to our customer list on LEADS and if using the TMS, then to the TMS as well. You will need the items below:

1. Login to Landstar Online at http://www.landstaronline.com with your username and password
Add customer in the TMS System
Adding a customer in the TMS is a longer process at the moment. Make sure you have the Customer Name and Customer Landstar Number.
When the customer is ready in the system they will let you know, the process may take 2-3 weeks.
