Pull Content Ideas from Brainstorm Notes

Before you begin your newsletter creation process, gather the ideas brought up by the team during the Brainstorm for this client.

Also ask the client if there is any specific piece of content they would like to highlight in the monthly newsletter.

Create the First Draft

You'll need to edit the "Setup" first by pressing the "Setup" tab at the top of the page.

Change the campaign name to: [INSERT CURRENT MONTH] [INSERT CURRENT YEAR].

Change the subject line and preview text to whatever is applicable for the new newsletter (Subject line examples in below).

Confirm that the "From Name" is who you want the email to come from.

Select the "Next Step" button at the top right to go to the "Design" tab, and then select "Edit the Email Content" to begin changing the elements inside of the newsletter.

Using the design layout already in the email, change the content based on the new information you want to deliver to the subscribers. Use the findings you gathered from the data to tailor your content to increase the open and click rate.

Photos that are added to your newsletter must be resized (without losing resolution) to 1MB or below. Use https://compressjpeg.com/ to resize your photos. If you do not resize your photos you will run into the issue of your photos not loading for users.

Review the First Draft with your AM to fine tune and perfect the Newsletter before sending it to the team for an internal review.

Only send the First Draft into the QA channel if you have reviewed and finalized this version with your AM.

Select the "Send a test email" (if you are in the new version, it will be in the "Actions" dropdown) button at the top right and send it to: Matt or Hannah (depending on whether purple or blue, @[email protected] and mcarter@lazarusdesignteam. Tag Madison just so she can look at design

Post a message in #lazarus_qa to notify a primary & secondary person to review the newsletter (see how to format the message below)

Due Date: [INSERT DAY], [INSERT DATE]
Asset: Review [INSERT CLIENT NAME]'s Monthly Newsletter. Please either send edits in a simple bulleted list in this thread or directly edit the email in Sendinblue. (TEST EMAIL SENT TO YOUR EMAILS)

Make the edits from the team's internal review, and then if needed, send another test to the team.

Send Draft or Video Review to the Client

Create a Loom (5-minute max) going over the Newsletter. Give the client a deadline for review (3-4 days) and let them know the Newsletter will go live on [date].

Hi [client name],

Hope you had a great weekend! We have the [month] Newsletter ready for you to review. Please take a look at the video we've put together going over the Newsletter and let us know (or comment) of any changes that you'd like to have made. Will you plan to have the Newsletter reviewed by [due date]? This Newsletter will start to go out on [date].
