Why?

The WP Elevation podcast is published every week and needs to be a consistent format. Trust is built through consistency of behaviour and a consistent format will provide a great listening and viewing experience for our audience.

the WP Elevation Podcast template and media elements for Final Cut Pro in the Google Drive folder WP Elevation > Video > Templates > fcp > wpe_podcast
the Podcast > Recordings folder in Google Drive

Technical Considerations

This process is triggered by Zapier when the host of the podcast has uploaded the recordings into Google Drive.

The flow of the podcast episode should be:

intriguing introduction (an interesting or funny snippet of the interview to hook the viewer in)

Logo

The WP Elevation logo should appear at the top left throughout the entire episode with the exception of the logo and music bumpers at the start and finish.

Lower Thirds

Lower thirds should be used approximately every 3 to 4 minutes and should only be shown while the person mentioned in the lower third is actually speaking. Please use this example as a reference for lower thirds in terms of positioning, size and colours:

Engaging

We tend to edit the vision about every 45 seconds and switch between the host and guest side-by-side and the single screen of the host or the guest depending on who is talking.

This makes for a more interesting viewing experience.
