Think about Safety and Neighboring Properties

Make sure there are no electric lines that could get shorted or are potentially dangerous

TURN OFF SPRINKLER CONTROLLER and possibly disconnect valves

Think about neighboring properties

Make sure soil is not around downspouts

Put plastic over pool edges - leave the bottom open (pool not gunited yet)

Put sandbags and or rock/brick to hold plastic

put plastic on susceptible hillsides

If possible direct water away and put plastic on immediate work areas to allow return work.

Protect plans, permits and other paperwork

cover and protect cement bags and other materials that should not get wet

cover and protect equipment that should not get wet.

Protect wood forms so they do not warp

protect steps on slopes from underpinning

Consider things that float

cut drain pipes so that they can accept water
2

drill holes in drain pipes to accept water but not soil if unable to set final grade
3

put sand bags around to keep soil from clogging drain pipes

Think, use common sense think about where water is going to flow.

Make sure water moves away from house, structures etc.

Grade water away from Pool
3

trench water away from erosion dangerous areas
4

Put waddles in front of erosion areas that go onto public facilities (Streets, storm drains etc.)

Think about water seeping to the bottom of a plant hole and popping out an unwanted drain channel on a slope
2

Look for gopher and rabbit holes that could create unwanted drains that could cause erosion
