Build the Perfect Squarespace Contact Page

Note: Many businesses don’t want to include a phone number because they think they might have to answer calls all day. But a phone number is like Google maps, it can give you credibility and makes a customer feel safe handing over personal information.

Note: Email addresses displayed on the web often receive spam. If you decide to list an email address, consider using a general box versus a personal inbox.

Note: Even if you link to social accounts elsewhere on the site, it can be helpful to include additional links to your social accounts on the Contact page.

Note: Even if you are not a brick-and-mortar business, it can be helpful to list your usual hours of operation. This lets potential customers know when they should expect to hear from you.

Note: Embed a Google map on your contact page to help customers find your business. Even if you are not a brick-and-mortar business, it can still be helpful to let customers know where you are based from.

Note: Generally, a Contact page form should be short and sweet, limiting the number of required fields. Squarespace forms default with an unecessary "subject" field. 

Note: A well-designed contact page directs people to the answers they need and helps them ask their questions more effectively, significantly improving their experience on your site. Should customers visit a different page to signup for a tour? Would your FAQ page be a good place to start? Also, what can you do to set customer expectations and build confidence before they’ve even talked to you?

Note: Don't make site visitors hunt to find your Contact page, place link/s in standard locations like the header or footer, or both. 

Note: Help site visitors easily find what they are looking for: Contact, Support, Help, etc.

Note: Ensure the blocks on your Squarespace page are arranged in optimal order for your mobile visitors. This is one of the biggest mistakes we see on Contact pages. 

Note: Be intentional in how you list your contact information, the order of information will often guide your site visitors to prioritize one method over another. Direct customers to the appropriate channels.
