Copy on Compass Websites

Overview

Your objective is to produce a writing guide for use on a given project. This guide will be used by one of two parties: Either a professional copywriter that Compass will assign, or the customer. This information will be known to you in producing the guide, and change the look of the writing guide that you produce. 

The writing guide itself is a way for Compass to produce copywriting for a project in the later stages of a site's development. 

Inputs

1. A link to a Compass Website in development.
2. A link to a project package folder with a template doc titled "writing guide | {{project name}}" in it.
3. Is the writing guide is for a professional copywriter or for the customer?

Output

A completed writing guide doc (titled "writing guide | {{project name}}") outlining all the areas where copy on the in-development site can be edited. The template will be tailored to either a Professional Copywriter or a Customer. 

Overview

Your objective is to add all the content from a writing guide into a website. After the writing has been produced (either by the customer or by a professional copywriter), the content needs to be added to the site. 

Inputs

1. A completed writing guide
2. A website URL
3. Login access to the website
   1. If Squarespace, use the credentials in 1password
   2. If WordPress, Compass will invite your email to the backend of the site 

Output

All the content of the writing guide added to the website in question.

For videos on navigating squarespace and adding / editing content, please check out our Squarespace 101 video library here. The first two videos are likely all you need for adding copy, but if you'd like to view more, it won't hurt. 

If you want more in-depth squarespace resources, you can view our Comprehensive Guide Videos here, but they shouldn't be needed for this task.
