Mission: Employable

This is the first, and most important step. Everyone in the group is responsible for this step.

You cannot win the final prize unless your entire group is willing to play, and helps complete all the assignments. 

This might simply be an email chain in which everyone says "I'm in!"

However  you choose to do it, make sure that everyone in your group has received their invitation to the game, and has watched the mission introduction video.

There are at least two requirements that everyone in the group must complete.

TEAM GUIDE: Once you have some confirmation from everyone in the group, you may mark this task complete. If someone on your team is unable to participate, send an email to Sujay ([email protected]) and we may make an exception for you. 

This must be accomplished by every member of the group. 

This requirement can be completed in a variety of ways. Looking through our list of posted positions, pick one (or a few!) to share. 

Here are some tips:

1. Post a LinkedIn or Facebook update and link to a job on your team. *Bonus: Include a picture of your team!

2. Post about a job opportunity on your church's job board, bulletin board, or listserv

3. Mention IJM career opportunities at a speaking engagement or networking event.

4. Post about opportunities to a LinkedIn or Facebook group

5. Organize a speaking engagement at a university career center. 

TEAM GUIDE: Once each person has successfully shared about the positions, you may mark this task as complete.

This task must be completed with at least 4 people in the group, and published on social media using the #IJMLife hashtag by one person in the group. 

Tips:

• Do a group lunch or coffee run, and take the photo and post it on Instagram or Facebook

Note:

• Members of the Investigations team should not be in the photo.

Bonus:

• There may be bonus prizes for those who get their entire group in the photo, or take an extra creative/fun picture. 

TEAM GUIDE: Once a photo of at least 5 team members has been published to social media with the #IJMLife tag, you may mark this task complete. 

This must be completed by everyone in the group.

To complete this requirement, everyone in the group should update their LinkedIn profile.

In the (unlikely) event that your profile is completely updated, has a quality cover photo and head shot, and has a well-crafted summary section, then you can complete this section by posting an update or a blog post to your network.

• Try re-writing your summary, using one of these templates

Bonus:

• Publish a blog. Here are some examples of posts from your colleagues:

TEAM GUIDE: Once everyone has updated their profile in some way, or posted an update, you may mark this task as complete. 

One person in the group should complete this, with help from the group

Send a remote staff member a note, or small gift. (Nothing over $15, unless you really want to!)

Our colleagues who work remotely make an extra effort to keep in touch, call into meetings, and tune in to prayer every day. Sometimes, a personal touch can make a big difference.

Show some love to your remote team members! 

TEAM GUIDE: Once you send the gift or note, you may mark this task as complete. 

At least 2 people from your group must attend our Recruiting brown bag session (TBD)

The recruiting team will hold a brown bag with some tips on engaging your friends and networks. Invitations for this event will be forthcoming. 

TEAM GUIDE: After the event is done, and two people from your group are confirmed attendees, you may mark this task as complete. 

This task must be completed by only one person in the group; in particular, this task should be done by the person who joined the organization recently. 

Submit an email to Sujay Natson ([email protected]) and answer the following questions:

What stands out to you about your memory / experience of being interviewed?

What could be better about your experience being interviewed for your position at IJM?

What stands out about your onboarding experience with IJM?

How could we improve the onboarding experience in the future? 

Once a member of your group submits the email to Sujay, you may mark this task complete. 

Each person in the group must submit at least one employee referral.

Employee referrals can be made through this SharePoint form or from the job description on the Internal jobs portal. Just click the button that says "Submit an Employee Referral"

TEAM GUIDE: Once each person in your group has submitted an employee referral, you can mark this task complete.

This should be done by one person in the group. 

Go to IJM's Glassdoor page, and share what it's like to work at IJM! 

TEAM GUIDE: Once you confirm that a Glassdoor review has been written and posted by a member of your team, you may mark this task complete. (Note, the reviews don't always show up on the page right away, so as long as someone has written the review and submitted it, that will count.)

This task should be completed by the intern in the group.

To complete this task, as an intern, think about a group or network that you could share about IJM's Internships or Fellowships. This could be the group who helped you fundraise, it could be your home church, it could be a group of friends. Be creative. 

The communication should allow the audience to learn about IJM's Internship & Fellowship opportunities, and be directed to IJM's website for more information. 

This should be in addition to what they have completed for previous tasks.

TEAM GUIDE: This task can be marked complete when the group's intern has shared about IJM internship & fellowship opportunities with their network.
