A meter number set up will be required if you want to ship via FedEx or UPS using your own account, or any account other than Ship My Orders' (like in a Third Party Billing situation).
We will need to set up a web user that will allow us to connect to the carriers' Web Services.
In any labels generated by us on your behalf, your company name will appear as the Shipper and the responsible Billing Party. This will shield Ship My Orders from any billing claims that the carriers could have if the third party account would dispute the charge or if the bill is not being paid on time.
If you only want to use a FedEx or a UPS account for Third Party Billing (your clients are requesting that you ship under their account) and you don't have an account, you can easily set a new one by going to the carrier's website. They will typically require that you provide your company's information and enter a credit card to create an account so you can generate these web credentials we require. Afterwards you won't need to use it, just keep it open without activity.
