Workflow drafts just got more transparent. You can now compare any workflow draft against its published version, or compare any two published versions side by side. Every change is grouped by task, with a word-level diff so you know exactly what moved.
Compare a draft with the published version. While your workflow has a draft, open the … menu in the editor. The comparison shows tasks added, removed, and renamed, along with renamed fields and options, workflow settings like the run name, and word-by-word text diffs. Each change shows who made it and when.
Compare any two published versions. In Revision History (available when Version Control is enabled), click Compare on an older version, then use the From and To pickers to choose any two versions.
Know what you’re discarding. The discard-draft dialog now tells you how many changes the draft contains since the published version, with a View changes link. This also works for Pages.
Always up to date. The comparison loads fresh every time you open it, so it includes the edit you made a second ago.
Some changes are counted but not detailed: due dates, assignments, task permissions, approvals, conditional logic, and native automations (AI tasks, code tasks, custom notifications, auto-sent emails, and data set actions) appear as summaries like “1 due date changed.”
App integrations, webhooks (including Zapier, Make, and Power Automate), incoming webhooks, and scheduled runs are saved on the workflow directly and take effect immediately rather than when you publish, so they don’t appear in version comparisons. The same applies to the workflow’s name and sharing settings.
Comparing workflow versions requires edit access. Readers can compare published Page versions, but not Workflow versions. And Forms comparison is coming next.
