If you’ve been using our video embed widget up until now, you might have noticed that it was a bit shaky to say the least. Very recently we’ve switched over from Amazon S3 and HTML5 to using Wistia — and it’s heaps better.

If you’re only interested in easily uploading and embedding video files in Process Street, that’s probably all you need to know. If you’re interested in the details, then read on.

Our previous video upload system wasn’t properly optimized. It looked bad, didn’t size properly and didn’t adjust for screen resolution. So, if you uploaded a 2GB file, it would take 2GB of data to stream. A nightmare on mobile.

Wistia, on the other hand, compresses video files differently depending on the resolution, meaning an optimal loading time and viewing experience every time.

And, in the future, we’ll be providing users with analytics on their videos with Wistia’s Stats API. If you want to know how many times the video in your template was played, how much of the video was watched by a certain user, or whether it was re-watched, then look out for that feature.
