
Rockstar Connect is a business networking event company. They support business networking events remotely all over the United States and have done since 2015.
To run these events, Rockstar Connect needs to be incredibly organized with a series of workflows to help them manage their recurring tasks. They found their old methods created more headaches than helpful solutions, so they enlisted the help of Process Street.
In this article, I’m going to walk you through how Rockstar Connect was overloaded with events, how it almost went under during COVID, and how Process Street was able to help them.
The challenge
Rockstar Connect has a small team of five people, and, pre-pandemic, that small team was juggling 250+ monthly events. Back in 2017, the company’s VP of Operations, Sarah Clark Elliot, knew they needed a workflow management solution to help manage all the company’s recurring tasks.
Before finding Process Street, they relied on Microsoft Word to keep track of their checklists.

It was pretty obvious that Word wasn’t going to cut it, so Sarah began to search for other solutions, trying Monday, AirTable, and Oodoo, none of which gave her what she needed. It was a major source of frustration for her and her team.
We have a process that has to repeat monthly, including venue booking, communication with the venues and the hosts, posting our events, creating content, and more. Things were getting lost between apps and employees.

Amidst this frustration, Sarah found Process Street.
The solution
Because Sarah had tried and failed with a number of other solutions, she knew exactly what she was looking for in a process management system.
I knew that I needed to deploy regular instructions and checklists to my team so that I didn’t have to micromanage them, and we have used Process Street with great success since 2017.

Sarah invested a couple of hours into building her first checklist, and since that first one, she has been able to create and implement new checklists very quickly. Because she was able to build templates for her processes, each new checklist had the same structures, form fields, and widgets as the previous one.
It helped that she already knew what the goals of each of her processes were before she began making the checklists. She knew exactly which tasks needed to be completed in a specific order to meet the desired outcome. That knowledge allowed her to make better-tailored and more advanced checklists that saved her and her team lots of time and headaches.
Sarah and the rest of the Rockstar Connect team saw an immediate improvement in their day-to-day work. They were no longer confused by using different apps for different functions. Now, with everything in a centralized location, they were all on the same page about what needed to be done, when it needed to be done, and who needed to do it.
It reduced a lot of the internal strife they had been experiencing.

The results
The increased efficiency of their recurring tasks was one of the biggest and most immediate results of Rockstar Connect’s adoption of Process Street.
But since they began using the software in 2017, they have found it much easier to keep their operating costs down.
This is always a good thing, but it was especially important through COVID because they suddenly couldn’t hold any networking events. It was a difficult time for many businesses, but because of the money Process Street saved Rockstar Connect and the organization it offered, they were able to keep all of their staff through the pandemic.
These days, Process Street is central to Rockstar Connect’s work. Since the pandemic, they have slowly increased the number of monthly events they run to over 100, and Process Street have helped them facilitate that change every step of the way.
I tell everyone about it. You know, a CRM is fabulous, but if you’re doing the same thing over and over again and you need the process done correctly and efficiently, Process Street is your best solution.

Overall, Process Street has not only helped Rockstar Connect organize its mountains of work, but it also had a hand in keeping its staff employed during the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the processes at Rockstar Connect are clear, organized, and help to make everyone’s jobs easier. Without Process Street, the staff wouldn’t be able to handle their workloads. It really has made a massive difference for the company and will continue to moving forward.
